Aim High 29!

JAKA Investments Corporation literally opened its 29th anniversary last
August 8, 2003 with a bang. With the theme "Aim High 29!", JIC
started its weeklong celebration with a Foundation Day Fun Shoot last
August 5, when the Tierra del Fuego Shooting Club had a Level I shooting
competition at the North Star Armory Shooting Range in Makati Cinema Square.
The week of
fun and excitement culminated on August 8 with a day-long schedule of
activities that started with a Thanksgiving Mass State of the Business
Address and Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile gave a hearthwarming inspirational
talk. Our Chairman, Cristina Ponce Enrile, also sent a short message of
inspiration. The new locations of our offices were blessed and afterwards,
a treasure hunt was conducted.
After a free lunch for all employees of JIC, the fun games began. There
were four teams that participated. The Yellow Team was composed of Godfrey
Palpal-latoc, Ian Salenga, Gerardo Ragasa, Lawrence Basilio, Ronald Aducayen,
Raquel Imus, Erna Bolos, Belen Torres, Lhea Bellosillo, Joes Luna, Angelia
Joyas, Mylene Paracad, Kirsten Pusung, Nona Lingat and Judy Merginio.
The Red Team
was comprised of Marian Espiritu, Renie Dimaculangan, Tess Ruiz, Ana Tadeo,
Sheila Gapero, Juvy Mendoza, Larry Lantino, Luningning Limbaring, Madeline
Liao, Princess Diaz, Flor Dastas, Clyde Saylago and Lilia Salvador.
The Green Team had Cheryl Mendoza, Rebecca Merginio, Arlene Manalo, Lyn
de Vera, Elaine Tolentino, Marilyn Perez, Rex Roldan, Connery Gonzales,
Ariel Carandang and Manny Ongtawco.
The Blue Team consisted of Julie Perez, Joie Berdos, Irma Cantos, Joey
Tumomba, Roda Baltazar, Maricel Landingin, Emilie Cabaccang, Jimmy Villa,
Ruby Red, Racquel Mirande and Jailyn Suaviso.
The Red Team garnered the top spot in hoola hoop game with the Blue,
Green and Yellow Teams getting the consolation price of Php 500 each.
The Blue Team won the eating relay followed by Red, Green and Yellow Teams.
The Yellow Team got the winning prize in the plank (chain) contest. The
first prize was at Php 1,000 while the consolation prize was at Php 500.
As
a way to share our blessing to our brothers and sisters, JAKA donated
some Php 15,750.00 (from the proceeds of the Anniversarry Bingo and the
Christmas Party activities held last year) to the Philippine General Hospital
(PGH) Pediatric Cancer Institute represented by Dr. Luz del Rosario, Dr.
Crispin Dalisay and Dr. Anne Equaras. The institute has about 40 in-patients
and 270 out-patients with ages ranging from 18 years and below.
The Sportsfest Committee was headed by Lorie Castillo and was composed
of: Sheila Chua, Jeanne Marie Marquez, Joy Ramirez, Jennifer Garcia, Maleah
Doma, Gladdies Grueso, Sherylle Aure, Louie Angostora, Joseph Garduce,
Joseph Calalo, Ying Marabillon, Jackie Lenn Blanco, Nina Yu, Karl Gnilo
and Abigail Lacuna.

Excellence Awards

JAKA Distribution
Inc. (JDI) once again proved its dominance in the marketing and distribution
industry when two of its personal care products, blooms Bathroom Tissue
and Softwhite Cotton, won the Product Excellence Awards given by the Organization
for Peace and Progressive Oriented and the Parangal sa Pamilyang Pilipino.
Blooms Bathroom Tissue also won the National Consumers Quality Awards
Commitee under the prestigious National Consumer Affairs Foundation (NCAF).
Bloom Bathroom Tissue received the Top Bathroom Tissue Brand Award in
the 19th Annual Consumers Quality and People''s Choice Awards held last
July 19,2003 at the U.P. Theater.

Bathroom Tissue also received the Most Outstanding Bathroom Tissue Award
given by the Organization for Peace and Progressive Oriented and the Parangal
sa Pamilyang Pilipino in a ceremony held last May 24, 2003 at the Irwin
Theater, Ateneo de Manila University.
Softwhite cotton, another personal care product by JDI, also gathered
the Most Outstanding cotton Award.
These much sought after accolades are conferred on quality and top consumer
products, manufacturers and companies based on a product's quality, contribution
to consumers and public opinion survey.
"We are very proud of these awards,"said Anna R. Ybañes,
Brand Manager of Blooms Bathroom Tissue."We really just want to give
the consumers an alternative choice where they do not have to sacrifice
quality for affordability. Receiving this award is an affirmation of this
vision.
As JDI once again proved its dominance in the marketing and distribution
industry, it remains committed in providing the best in household and
